BAR HARBOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER)– An historic home in Bar Harbor got an upgrade from some Maine designers looking to show their stuff to support cancer research.
Brightholme, located at 18 Wayman Lane near downtown Bar Harbor, used to be the home of Jackson Lab founder C. C. Little in the 1920’s. With the help of Maine Interior Design Magazine, the current owners of the house recruited eleven designers from across the state to revitalize the old space.
Tours are available of the newly decorated home, with all profits going to Jackson Laboratory. Organizers say a lot have residents have turned out to get ideas for their own homes, and to see an historic building brought back to life.
“When people come to Bar Harbor, either people who live here, or people who come from all over the world to Bar Harbor, they have the opportunity to not only tour a spectacular house that’s been redesigned in really wonderful ways, but they are also supporting lifesaving biomedical research,” said Joyce Peterson, Public Information Manager at Jackson Lab.
Tours of the house are open to the public every day from 10 AM – 4 PM until August 4th.
